GREENWICH VILLAGE RESTAURANT
Inspired by the traditional roadside food stands in the Abruzzo region of Italy, and intrigued by space travel, the James-Beard-winning chef who created Pasta Flyer wanted to build an immersive, sensorial experience in his fast-casual restaurant. Marrying the aesthetics of Italian home cooking and outer space imagery, we designed and built this Greenwich Village space for his innovative cuisine. We repurposed a vintage satellite dish as a light fixture, reclaimed an Italian library table for communal dining, and salvaged barnwood, wheat, and upholstery fabric to form the interior dining space— all meant to add dimension to his exquisite sauces and pasta shapes.
